The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) is a non-profit association of certified commissioning authorities, dedicated to the advancement of professional, independent commissioning services through education, training, and certification of qualified architects and engineers.

Goals and Objectives

  •  
    		•  Foster a better understanding of the commissioning process through education, training, and certification of qualified, independent commissioning providers.
  •  
    		•  Maintain a credible commissioning certification program for qualified architects and engineers.
  •  
    		•  Serve as a valuable resource for building owners and provide easy access to certified, independent commissioning authorities.
  •  
    		•  Develop comprehensive commissioning guidelines for total building commissioning.
  •  
    		•  Promote ACG independent commissioning services to building owners and design professionals.
  •  
    		•  Develop and maintain an effective quality assurance program for ACG members.
       

    Guiding Principles

    ACG has adopted the following Guiding Principles to help ensure that the association meets its goals and objectives while offering a valuable public service.

  •  
    		•  Independence – All members must be independent of installing contractors, manufacturers of equipment or system components, or other entities that could affect the ability of the member to render an independent commissioning report.
  •  
    		•  Certification – Applicants for certification must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the commissioning process, and demonstrate their ability to provide professional commissioning services in accordance with the ACG Commissioning Guideline.
  •  
    		•  Quality Assurance – Members participate in the ACG Quality Assurance Program by issuing a Certificate of Compliance to building owners at substantial completion of all commissioning projects. Customer feedback is used to assist the association with maintaining high standards of professionalism.
  •  
    		•  Training and Education – ACG is committed to providing training and education for its members and the public. In addition to developing technical guidelines and standards, the association sponsors technical seminars and conferences that focus on commissioning related subjects.
       

    Organization

    ACG is a subsidiary organization of the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) and is governed by a separate board of directors, elected by the ACG membership. The day-to-day affairs of the organization are handled by a professional management staff, located in Washington, D.C. Committees are appointed to address various initiatives on behalf of the association and ACG members are invited to participate in committee activities. Standing committees are as follows:
